The WomenNet.am Website is founded in 2011
by the “Women’s Information-Analytical Network” NGO (WomenNet NGO),
which units journalists of print and electronic media, as well as experts and academic staff specializing in the field of gender journalism.
We want Armenian society to overcome:
– all forms of gender discrimination,
– gender inequality and injustice in all areas
We are confident
that gender-sensitive, ethical and responsible journalism can greatly enhance women’s involvement and consequently country’s development and wellbeing.
The Woman and Politics” Newspaper published since 2007 in Armenian, Russian and English languages in print and pdf-versions.
The Newspaper observes politics in a broader context, addressing the whole spectrum of women’s issues. Issues have focused on poverty, demography, reproductive rights and woman’s health, ecology, business, peacemaking, violence against women and children, rights of disabled women, rural women and various other socially-sensitive topics.
The Center for Gender and Media Analysis is a research and advocacy hub dedicated to exploring how media influences, reflects, and shapes gender dynamics in society. Through critical analysis, public engagement, and capacity-building initiatives, the Center promotes inclusive representation, challenges harmful stereotypes, and empowers diverse voices across media platforms. It serves as a resource for educators, journalists, and activists committed to advancing gender equality through informed media practices.
The Center for Gender and Media Analysis was created within the framework of the WomenNet NGO in 2010.
