Women in Green Agriculture

International Day of Rural Women is on October 15 each year. This day, established by the General Assembly in its resolution 62/136 of 18 December 2007, recognizes “the critical role and contribution of rural women in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty.”

The 2023 theme “Rural Women Cultivating Good Food for All” highlights the essential role that rural women and girls play in the food systems of the world.

This topic is consistent with the goals of the “Women in Green Agriculture” campaign that takes place on the site WomenNet.am with the support of the Austrian Development agency within the framework of the EU-GAIA  project. The campaign aims to popularize the successful experience of women in the development of green agriculture in Armenia and  to contribute to the expansion of women's participation in creating a competitive and efficient agriculture based on green technologies and science.
